First and foremost as a symbol for the Earth's fertility. Not viewed as a human in form but as earth itself. And was thought of as not a spirit that represented Her sovereignty, but as the ground beneath one's feet, alive and all knowing. She is worshiped as a special divine supreme being, who is able to predict the future, for those who can understand her mysterious language.
